Shush, don’t tell anyone. I’m so stuffed with turkey and all the trimmings that now I’m having to hide because they’re looking for me to help with the dishes. And you know, Dru, how I hate to get dishpan hands.

Don’t worry just enjoy yourself as Mum,Dad and I are doing here in Port Melbourne……..
I brought them home from the Elder Haven Ret Village for the night as it was our Neighbour Christopher’s 50th Birthday Party…. (Friday 28th Nov)
You remember Chris? he was a little baby and was adopted by our friends Maureen and Reggie …He was just 6 weeks old with a mop of red hair. You and I were the first to nurse him …you probably don’t remember but he was so chubby with a mop of red hair and when Maureen asked you ” Do you wan’t to nurse him Pris” you were speechless (1st time ever)
You sat on a chair on the porch and she placed him in your arms and he was bigger than you and nearly sliped off your taffeta and velvet dress ….
He was such a darling baby…Now he is all grown up, still chubby, still fat and still with a dash of red hair (or what’s left of it on his balding head)…but still with that cheeky laugh.
It was a lovely balmy night and we set it up on the back porch at his house ….Angie (my friend you remember her Pris, the Landscape gardener and Artist/painter)….
We two made salads ,cooked piece of Fillet steak on the b/que spindle …we had Greek salad (from Connie) cabbage salad (from Linda) tossed salad (My specialty)…we had the biggest and best trifle (chris’s favourite) by Jean and Angie made magical crepes with mandarins and ice cream and sorbet…we did baked potatoes with chopped chives and sour cream ….
Even this morning I am feeling quite full although I did not drink or have too much to eat as I am on this strict ” Weight Loss Regime” sounds better than being on a diet….don’t you think Pris.
Just getting back to the weight loss, I have to lose another 10 pounds before the knee operation,which is on the first week in March 2009 (sounds a bit like Kevin07) our new Prime Minister…..So Dear Sis I did myself proud …but knee is aching a bit this morning….but don’t fret I can look after myself
Oh I meant to tell you….On Thursday morning I had a massage with our new Neighbour Kim…she runs a massage therapy business from her home on the cr house opposite the Park….nice spot
Last month when it was my Birthday ( did you send me a card I can’t remember) a friend named Maree gave me a voucher for a massage with Kim….so I thought I had better get to and have one…Well was it something….I walked out of that front door of Kim’s and I felt I could fly over the top of WESTGATE BRIDGE ( one of the biggest span bridges in Australia)…as you well know (Dad loves it)
To put it into English ” I felt rejuvinated ” it’s years since I had a massage about 4 to be precise …what with retirement,paying fees for Mum and Dad in Elder Haven, buying their medications and bits and pieces …taxi fares cost a lot these days Pris so I might look into getting a reduced fare re taxi for them both…how does that sound to you I think its another good idea of mine …which as you know I am full of…..
Well Sis off to vote in the COPP council elections held down in Fishermens bend hall…I am hoping we get a new candidate and get rid of this one who is not the brightest spark on the woodheap….Of course the problem is she has only lived in Port Melbourne for 12 years ….she can’t possibly know about the BOROUGH can she…..you have to have the blood in your veins to know what is right and wrong for us ….
Mum and Dad are reading the pamphlets the candidates have put in our letter box…..Dad has just blown his top and said to Mum and I…
” Blimey there’s one bloke here on this pamphlet who says that GLOBAL WARMING is a big fraud and we need to get rid of all scientists immediately or put them to better use to earn their living instead of frightening the whole world as if its coming to an end….he says its a normal part of the weather pattern and has nothing to do with human habitation on the earth”
I’m just getting Dad a glass of Water before he chokes ” he’s starting to gag a bit and Mum is in a panic”…
